I Appreciate the Effort
When I ordered Chicken Kiev I expected: But to my bewilderment, I was served:

Hi
I accidentally clicked the Google Analytics boomark (tracks the number of visitors to this tumblelog) and logged in anyway. Lo and behold! People still come here :D What’s new? Youtube is banned in China! Maybe it was in response to the launch of Youtube Taiwan. I had a week-long holiday in Indonesia which destroyed my feeble attempt to get into shape. Heading for Bangladesh on Saturday. ...

Good to be back of course :D Unfortunately it’s not a weekend so there is no rest, even though there has been no rest for the last 2 weeks in Dhaka. Will be flying to Nanjing on the 19th for a couple of days, and then Dhaka again early next month. >_
Dhaka!
Supposed to fly back on the 9th, but the flight will be on the 13th instead! Been spending the last few days looking for a brand new apartment to lease or buy if the price is right. Unfortunately, the real estate market isn’t as advanced or convenient like in Australia where you have access to a wealth of info on the interweb, and many home-owners do not advertise in the english paper. So we...

Dhaka!
I’m completely exhausted but things will be more relaxed after the dinner we are hosting tomorrow night. 130 invitations have been sent out and hopefully 80% of guests will turn up for the dinner at the Radisson Dhaka. There’s a special treat for the guests. Swani Zubayeer, a leading Ghazal singer in Bangladesh will be performing at the event. Ghazal is a poetic song style that is...
Hello from Dhaka
I thought I lost my adapter/converter kit! It would’ve meant I couldn’t charge my laptop, dslr and camcorder batteries unless I could find a store here that even knows what I’m talking about. But I’m so pro at finding things. KEKE!

Man Utd 3 : 0 Guangzhou
MANCHESTER UNITED ROX MY SOX! The seats weren’t bad, but why not move to better ones if they are vacant? ;) In fact, I changed seats three times throughout my journey from the East Side to the West Side. I never though the security guards would care until one of them asked to see my ticket as I approached the seats closest to the players tunnel. From the guards point of view: Him: Can I see...
Kick-off..
in a few hours time! Guangdong Olympic Stadium is about 2 hours away by car, and looks magnificent in photos. Too bad theres the running track around the field, so everyone is further away from the action. Hope it’s not raining too, cause about 2 hours ago it was pouring, and the skies are still overcast nooooo! I am prepared to join the mob if there is a field invasion.
Hong Kong
Will be making the short trip to HK tomorrow. Gotta get these Bangladesh visa applications processed asap! Other than that, I hope to do some shopping too :) Mode of transport would be by bus. It’s the most convenient way to get from Shenzhen to downtown Hong Kong. The trip would take about an hour and half, including going through China and Hong Kong immigration. Not bad!
Manchester United in Guangzhou
HURRAH! Managed to get tickets for Man Utd’s friendly over here. I’m looking forward to Rooney and Ronaldo working their magic. I didn’t need to pitch a tent outside the ticket office for these tickets as I ordered the phone through China Post’s ticketing system, too easy! *Puts away camping gear* The game will be on the 27th of this month, at the Guangdong Olympic...
Fascinating and Urban Collection
The genius behind ‘Fascinating and Urban Collection; Kiss You China’ didn’t count on how patriotic some people over here are. I like the provocative idea, but not everyone is as open minded as me. People sent abusive emails to Philippe Plein (the label) and demanded an explanation. The company’s response was to basically apologize and remove the shirts from the market. I...
Two Billion Rats
There’s a rodent invasion in Hunan province, just north of the province I’m in. If the two billion strong rat army makes their way south, I’m outta here! The rats were flushed out of their homes when the water level rose around Dongting lake, and they’ve continued to rampage through farmland after farmland. So far about 2 million rats (90 tonnes of rat!) have been killed....
