Two Billion Rats
There’s a rodent invasion in Hunan province, just north of the province I’m in. If the two billion strong rat army makes their way south, I’m outta here!
The rats were flushed out of their homes when the water level rose around Dongting lake, and they’ve continued to rampage through farmland after farmland.
So far about 2 million rats (90 tonnes of rat!) have been killed. It’s quite a sight on tv, farmers squashing the rats with hammers and scooping up rats with shovels.
I wonder if this would create a ‘Black Death’ pandemic. Even the Pied Piper wouldn’t be able to handle two billion rats!
